With turquoise waters, white sands, and gentle sea breezes, a coastal beach in Hainan recently welcomed a new addition to its sanitation operations. PEAKS-ECO's Autonomous Beach Cleaning Robot officially began field operations, introducing a new intelligent approach to beach maintenance.
Traditional beach cleaning relies heavily on manual labor. Efficiency is often limited, while working in hot and humid conditions can be physically demanding and costly. Plastic fragments, broken glass, and other debris buried beneath the sand are also difficult to remove thoroughly, affecting the appearance of the beach and creating potential safety hazards.
Independently developed by PEAKS-ECO, the Beach Cleaning Robot is specifically engineered for coastal environments characterized by soft sand, changing tides, and high salt-mist corrosion. Its triangular crawler chassis provides a large ground-contact area and low ground pressure, helping prevent sinking and slipping on soft, wet sand.
Equipped with an advanced screening system, the robot loosens the surface sand while moving and simultaneously separates and collects waste. It can effectively remove common beach debris such as plastic, foam, glass fragments, and fallen branches.
The equipment supports both remote-control operation and fully autonomous driving. Once the operating route is planned, the robot can independently perform cleaning operations across the designated area, automatically detect and avoid obstacles, and maintain stable operation throughout the day.
The entire machine is also treated with anti-rust and anti-corrosion protection, enabling long-term operation in coastal environments with high humidity and salt exposure. This makes it well suited for routine sanitation and maintenance at beaches and coastal tourist destinations.
For coastal resorts and scenic areas, intelligent cleaning equipment can do more than reduce reliance on manual labor.
