Recently, the “Nanchong Jialing District Municipal Waste Collection, Transfer, and Disposal Facility Equipment Upgrade Project,” awarded to PEAKS-ECO, has successfully completed its trial operation. As a key environmental protection project in Jialing District, commissioned by the Nanchong Jialing District Comprehensive Administrative Law Enforcement Bureau, the facility is designed to handle 400 tons of waste per day, aiming to comprehensively enhance the modernization of local municipal waste management.

The project adopts an advanced vertical container compression transfer process. Waste collection vehicles enter designated unloading bays in the discharge hall according to instructions and unload waste into vertically positioned containers. Inside the container, waste is repeatedly filled and compressed by a vertical compactor. Once the preset capacity is reached, the operation stops, completing both unloading and compression.

Fully loaded containers are then locked and transported to the disposal site by transfer vehicles. Empty containers return and are reset to a vertical position by a tilting mechanism or temporarily stored in designated areas.

The transfer vehicles also feature on-site scheduling capabilities, allowing temporarily full containers to be stored during peak periods for later transport or to hold empty containers when no free bays are available. This effectively improves equipment utilization and operational efficiency.
1. Multi-position operation, high compaction efficiency
A single compaction mechanism can move horizontally along multiple vertical containers, achieving vertical compression for each, maximizing equipment utilization.

2. Gravity-assisted, energy-efficient
Waste naturally falls into containers under its own weight and unloading momentum, achieving initial compaction; the vertical compression process requires minimal force, reducing energy consumption.
3. Leachate control, environmentally safe
Leachate generated during compression flows naturally to the container bottom and is securely collected, preventing environmental contamination.

4. Independent units, flexible system
Functions such as transfer, unloading, compression, and deodorization operate independently without interference, allowing flexible scheduling and lower overall energy consumption.

5. Parallel operations, smooth workflow
Compactor movement and compression do not affect other vehicles’ unloading or container transfer, ensuring continuous operation and improving overall system efficiency.
The commissioning of this station effectively addresses issues caused by dispersed and outdated waste facilities and outdated transfer methods, which previously led to scattered waste and secondary pollution from leachate. The new process follows principles of economic and sustainable development, offering high efficiency, environmental protection, and energy-saving operations. It significantly improves local living conditions and meets higher requirements for municipal waste management and classification, providing solid infrastructure support for urban environmental development in Jialing District.
